實驗結果發現,在電針GV14與GV20的電針組可降低古柯鹼對於小鼠所引起的毒性症狀,並減低下丘腦外側區和丘腦的腦室壁核中由古柯鹼所引起的c-fos表現。
We tested the effects of electroacupuncture (EA) on seizures induced by single administration of cocaine (75 mg/kg) in mice and followed by an imunohistochemistry study to determine the c-fos expression in the brain. Three groups of animals were included, i.e. (1) control group: animals were strained without EA, (2) EA treatment group: animals were strained and received EA (50 Hz; 1mA) for 15 min at GV14 (Dazhui) and GV20 (Baihui) without anesthesia before cocaine injection and (3) sham acupuncture group, where EA was performed on the tail (non-acupoints) of the animal. EA treatments were followed 1 min afterwards by an intraperitoneal injection of cocaine (75 mg/kg). At two hours after cocaine injection, all groups were sacrificed and the c-fos express in the brain was determined by an immunohistochemistry method. In addition, we also examined the c-fos expression after applicationof EA to GV14 and GV20, without cocaine injection.
We found that EA pretreatment at GV14 and GV20 attenuated the severity of cocaine-induced seizure in EA group and decreased cocaine-induced c-fos expression in paraventrical nucleus of thalamus and lateral hypothalamic area.
