    Title: 戴奧辛對乳癌影響之整合分析方法
    The meta-analysis of correlation of dioxin exposure and breast cancer

    Abstract: 世紀之毒─戴奧辛被認為是極具毒性的物質,國際癌症研究機構已將其歸類為第一類的「已知人類致癌物」,而根據研究指出,戴奧辛屬於環境賀爾蒙,長期暴露於戴奧辛濃度中可能會致使女性罹患乳癌。因此本研究目的主要是針對已發表關於戴奧辛對乳癌影響之研究進行搜尋,並運用傳統整合分析及本研究所提出之整合分析方法,將所收集的研究做有系統的整理及分析以提供一個綜合性結論來探討戴奧辛對於女性罹患乳癌的影響,並將研究結果提供給相關領域的研究者及政府機關作為參考。結果的部分發現運用二種方法來針對收集的文章進行分析皆呈現居住地區與戴奧辛汙染源的距離越遠女性罹患乳癌的風險越低,也就是說女性暴露於戴奧辛汙染的濃度越低罹患乳癌的風險也越低(傳統整合分析:共同單位暴露風險=-0.029;本研究方法:共同單位暴露風險=-2.282),檢定結果顯示傳統整合分析未達統計上顯著差異而本研究提出之方法則有達統計上顯著差異,根據二種方法分析的結果來進行推論,可以得知戴奧辛對於罹患乳癌的風險不具有保護作用,並且可能有增加風險的趨勢。不過這樣的結果受限於探討戴奧辛對乳癌影響的相關研究過少,因此有出版誤差的問題,待有更多的相關文獻被發表後再進行更進一步地研究,來讓研究結果更為完整。

    Objective: To study females with exposure to dioxin at an elevated high risk of breast cancer.

    Design: Systematic review of environmental epidemiology studies.

    Data sources: Pudmed, Medline, Embase, Cochrane Library and CEPS were used. All data sources were searched from January 1990 to September 2009.

    Data extraction and statistical analysis: In this study, we included four papers in the meta-analysis method. Relative risks or odds ratios appeared in each study were used to estimate the correlation between dioxin exposure and breast cancer. Using the traditional meta-analysis and a new meta-analysis method, we summarized the association between female exposure to the dioxin and the risk of the breast cancer.

    Results: Four environmental epidemiology studies met the inclusion criteria. In this methods, the correlation between dioxin exposure and breast cancer is positive. Nevertheless, the traditional meta-analysis was not statistical significance and new meta-analysis method was.

    Conclusions: These are no protection effect to suffer the breast cancer for women exposed to the dioxin pollution, and perhaps these are adverse effect.
