Gender equity is not only the world trend, but also the national policy of our country. Because the core value of nursing is human centered, which calls for the professionalism of gender consciousness, how to integrate gender equity into nursing practice has become very important. Due to the fact that education is a crucial way to raise gender consciousness, this study will adopt triangulation, includes in-depth interviews, focus group and survey, the first year purpose are: 1. Understanding the gender consciousness and gender equity perspective of nursing faculties and students along with the execution of gender related courses. 2. Discussing the actual teaching experience, difficulties and suggestions with the nursing faculties who incorporate gender equity concept into their courses. 3. Understanding the gender experience (including in class and in clinical practice) and effect of nursing students of different genders during learning process. 4. Comparing the difference of gender consciousness and the factors affecting the difference between students of opposite genders. 5. Comparing the variance and the factors affecting the difference of gender consciousness between teachers and students. The study of the second year will use the data collected in the first year as basis to design gender equity educational courses suitable for the nature of nursing and its professional needs; furthermore, train qualified teachers to teach gender equity education. The third year, action research will be conducted to inspect the result of the nursing students who received gender equity education. As a whole, deep rooting gender equity concept into nursing education not only can improve the quality of nursing care, promote equal development opportunity for nurses of both genders, but also help improve the social situation of nursing profession and promote multiple channels for further nursing professional development. As a result, the execution of this study is both necessary and adequate.
