    Abstract: 本文藉由消渴疾病史的研究方法，闡述先秦至金元時期裏中醫學對消渴病的認知。發現消渴病臨床思想史料的現代研究都是明顯不足的。本文首創以目錄學方法分析電子資料庫的搜尋結果，快速地掌握消渴古籍的文獻分布。於醫史上，首次評析《三消論》對消渴病診治的貢獻。再借助《素問病機氣宜保命集．消渴論》的迴異觀點，比對出消渴診治中辨病與辨證的雙重思路，開創性地指出「消渴」一詞在中醫學裏，既是一個病，又是一個證。且成功地以歷代書目查考、內容分析法和引用文獻的考辨，明確分辨劉完素消渴史料的真偽。並首度於醫史上深入地評析和撰寫先秦至晉、南北朝至唐、宋金元等三時期的消渴斷代疾病史。
