The study aims to examine the process of preventing drug abuse on campus in Taiwan and the promotion content of using proper drugs includes four kinds of treatment: Model A: giving students handbooks on preventing drug misuse so that they can understand the right method of drug use by themselves; Model B: schools should arrange promotional activities related to preventing drug abuse; Model C: focus on parents and communities, although schools should also arrange related promotional activities for them; and Model D: related promotional activities conducted by Chun Hui students’ group and other relevant groups should be carried out. There are a total of eight combinations and each one contains Model A. The effect evaluations of twelve groups were analyzed. By using surveys, four perspectives, i.e. knowing, memory, attitude, and action were evaluated. A pretest-posttest control group study design was utilized and a self-developed structured questionnaire was used for data collection.A stratified random sample of 733 students from 8 junior high school of Taichung in Taiwan. The researcher noticed that significant effect in preventing drug abuse was found in the variance analysis of different groups; more than three kinds of models should be combined in the perspectives of knowing and action. If Model C were added in the perspective of attitude, significant effect could be achieved. If Models C and D were added in the perspective of memory, significant effect could also be achieved. With regard to the predictive analysis of the knowing perspective, significant effect could be actualized after the variance of study objects’ basic information was changed in Models A, B and C. The model of diverse intervention strategies provides the multiple effects if each model is added cumulatively. Beyond delivering the basic hygienic education sheets, prevention of drug abuse can also be implemented through the common educational functions. School should value the impact on family education and the influence on peers; they bring a powerful effect on drug misuse prevention. The study therefore proposes that: (1) training of professional teachers should be enhanced in order to correct students’ perception about using drugs; (2) the intervention in families helps to construct the educational network between schools and communities so that the prevention of drug abuse can be well accomplished.
