Purpose: This study is to explore nursing students attitudes towards evidence-based nursing, to examine the relationship between personal characteristics and data base searching and information literacy ability. Methods: A cross sectional approach will be used. The nursing students who taking evidence-based nursing program will be recruited in 2010. Fifty potential participants will be recruited by purposely sampling at a Medical University in Taichung area. Data collection will be conducted by survey and focus group interviews. Survey will be conducted by SPSS 13.0. Interviews will be transcribed verbatim and also translated thematically for the purposes of cross comparison. Analysis of transcriptions and fieldnotes will be guided by the “constant comparative method” (Lincoln & Guba, 1985). The findings of this study will be identified (1) influence factors related to evidence-based nursing program and (2) a description and interpretation of themes and patterns within the accounts of these nursing students. The results of this research will allow an in-depth exploration of the students’ experiences with taking evidence-based nursing program. These findings will have implications for facilitating evidence-based nursing program promotion in nursing education and for developing evidence-based nursing program for nursing students. .
