Dendrobii (Orchidaceae) are valuable Chinese medicine herb in common use for ophthalmological, liver and kidney disease. Recently, the crude extract of herb Dendrobii has been reported that it had potential activity to osteoblast-like cells. More than 150 species of Dendrobii were used in Chinese Medicine, But major species used for medicinal value including Dendrobium loddigesii Rolfe, Dendrobium fimbriatum Hook. Var. oculatum Hook, Dendrobium chrysanthum Wall, Dendrobium chrysanthum Wall, Dendrobinm monile Kraenz1, Dendrobium nobile Lindl. In this study, fourteen species of Dendroii extracts with CHCl3 by soxhlet apparatus provided fractions A-1-A-14 and their water extracts provided fractions B-1-B-14. The extracts were incubated with cell in vitro. The proliferation of osteoblast-like cells was determined by the MTT assay. The result showed CHCl3 fractions of herb Dendrobii stimulation activity to osteoblast-like cells. KeyWords: Osteoblast, Dendrobii, Extraction
