The purpose of this study was to determine the optima stable composition of DPPC and n-hexadecanol mixed monolayer and liposome. It was found that the monolayer collapse processes of DPPC and DPPC with normal long-chain alcohols, n-hexadecanol, n-octadecanol, and n-eicosanol, could be described by a two-stage nucleation and growth model.
