摘要:	Taiwan is a high prevent area od Thalassemia, the prevalent rate around 3-5% in general population. MCV of RBC was used for screening test, and HbA2 cut-off value was used to differentiate α- and β-Thalassemia. HbA2 can be determinated by several methods such as chromatography, HPLC, cellulose electrophoresis...etc. In our laboratory, the method of cellulose acetate membrane electrophoresis was used to determinate HbA2. In this study, We evaluate the accuracy of HbA2 cut-off value for the diagnosis of α-and β-Thalassemia.
