摘要:	Objective. Cardiovascular events occur most frequently in the morning hours when blood pressure (BP) increases. The study was to investigate whether Sleep Disordered Breathing (SDB) patients suffering from overnight BP surge or a chronic BP elevation have a worse sleep quality, a more severe inflammatory status, and a higher index of metabolic syndrome. Methods: Anthropometric measurements, overnight polysomnography, blood biochemical assay, and pre-and post- overnight sleep BP were measured in 10 normal subjects and in 263 SDB patients, the latter of which were classified into four different BP changes: post-overnight sleep BP (morning) surge (%>+1SD), post-overnight sleep BP (morning) drop (%<-1SD), constant low and constant high BP. Results. BMI, neck circumference, waistline circumference, respiratory disturbance index (RDI), arousal index, lowest oxygen saturation (LOS), blood triglycerides, hs-CRP, metabolic syndrome score were significantly increased in Sleep Disordered Breathing patients compared with normal subjects.
