Purpose: The purpose of this study will develop a model of improving children developmental care in nurses and parents. At the first year, study will explore the effect of the children developmental care of the nurses’knowledge, attitude and behavior after delivering the program. The second year, study will explore the influence of the program in the parents’knowledge of and behavior of their children developmental care. Methods: The first year, an experimental study will be designed. The pretest will be given before intruding the Children Developmental Care Program (CDCP). The experimental group is 30 nurses who have been educated with children developmental care while control group is 30 nurses without any intervention. The sample consists of 60 pediatric nurses of baby care from two hospitals. The effect of the children developmental care of nurses’knowledge, attitude and behavior will be examined at two posttests which will be followed at the 2 weeks and 3 months after program. The second year, an experimental study with control and experimental groups, the experimental group is 30 parents who have been educated with children developmental care while control group of 30 parents only receive the regular discharge plan. The sample consists of 60 new born parents. The parents’children developmental knowledge will be compared between two groups at their infants’the first, forth, sixth and ninth month. The SPSS/PC will be applied to analyze the data. Result: The results will accomplish an educational program of young children developmental care named as Children Developmental Care Program (CDCP) which focus on the three years of children developmental care; increase the prevention care of children development of pediatric nurses, and improve the parent’sability of young children care and the knowledge of children development. The study will promote the early intervention for the purpose of children health.
