    Title:

Recently, the development of mass transportation system is rapid. Each year, approximately 10 million passengers are carried on Taiwan domestic airlines. More than 3 million passengers per mouth are carried on Taipei Rapid Transit Corporation. Along with the increasing passenger population, the indoor air quality should be more importance than ever, according to the health of workers who spent most of time in the confined cabins or underground stations. The relative humidity in the cabin is usually lower than normal air-conditioned indoor environment. The long-term exposure to dry or air and pool indoor air quality will make attendants uncomfortable. The influenza, SARS, and TB outbreak during flight were also reported. Additionally, high concentration of bioaerosols was found in the subway environment. However, few studies have been conducted to evaluate the exposures of biological hazards for workers in Taiwan airplane domestic cabins and subway metro stations. This project will investigate the biological environment of airplane cabins and underground environment of Taipei Rapid Transit Corporation to evaluate biological hazard exposures of the crew and workers. In addition, we will use questionnaires to collect data on workers’ demographic data and health status to assess their potential health risks.
